Hecht/Bobb (First Grade) -

February Events:
2nd: Groundhog Day 10th: Valentine's Dance
3rd: NWEA Testing 14th: Valentine's Day & Classroom Party
5th: Happy Birthday, Jesus! 16th: Mrs. Hecht’s Birthday!
8th: PTO Meeting (4-6 building @4:00) 20th: President’s Day: No School for students
10th: Happy Birthday, Jenna! 28th: Character, Writing & Math Assembly

NWEA Testing: Our students begin testing January 23rd. It is very important that students try their best and get a good breakfast. We test the January 23rd, 25th and 30th. We also test on February 3rd.
Valentine’s Day: Our Valentine’s Day party will take place on February 14th. There will be a note sent home soon about the party, as well as, a class list for valentines. We are collecting shoeboxes for the party. Please donate if you are able.
Daily 5: There are some items that we need donated for our literacy program. Thank You!

Carl/Anderen (First Grade)-
We have a lot happening in our classroom in October! First of all, we are happy and excited to welcome back Mrs. Carl this month who has been gone on maternity leave. We are so excited to have her back! We also thank Mrs. Boersma for spending the beginning of the school year with us. She has done a tremendous job and we will be sad to see her go.
We are planning a trip to Bosserd Farm in the beginning of the month for pumpkins and apple picking. More details will be coming soon for this field trip, so please make sure that you are checking your student's Friday Folder for information.
We will also be having our Halloween celebration at the end of the month. We will have our classroom party and will participate in Trunk-or-Treat on Monday, October 31. We will have more details for you as we get closer to the date.

Dear Parents,

We want to inform you of the progress our students made during the 2008-2009 school year. We constantly review each student's learning progress to be certain that we are "on track." One way we do this is by employing a widely used and nationally validated achievement test. This test is administered throughout the United States to hundreds of thousands of children annually, both at the beginning, and again at the end of the school year.

Our students have completed the spring test and we can now judge the results of our students' and out teachers' efforts this school year.

Our charts demonstrate the results in greater detail.
